Grief Circle

  • The Barn at Windpointe 11 Windpointe Freeport, ME 04032 (map)

In times of sorrow, ritual plays an essential role in maintaining community. Many of us are awakening to a sense that what we experience as private sadness is shared common grief. We are here to acknowledge that truth–that none of us is separate; that the suffering of one is the suffering of many and that healing is also a shared experience.

When you are feeling a vague or specific sense of your own grief, naming it enables integration and healing not just for yourself, but others. Ultimately, the act of sharing and receiving builds the personal and cultural resilience we all need to thrive in difficult times.

As beings, we instinctually move toward each other in times of joy and sorrow; our impulse is often to share our stories and to connect through receiving others’, but we don’t always have that opportunity. This circle is an intentional way to share our personal stories of grief in a process sometimes called ‘grief tending’.

You can formally RSVP here but it’s not required. Suggested donation is $5-10. Direct any questions to mara[at]marastone.co.
